A series of custom steel structures designed to support gathering, recreation, and community events along Red Bank’s revitalized waterfront.

Marine Park has long been one of Red Bank’s most recognizable waterfront destinations, serving as a gathering place for community events, recreation, and scenic views along the Navesink River. As part of the Borough’s comprehensive renovation of the park, Legend Structures was selected to fabricate and supply several custom steel structures that help define the park’s new public spaces.

The multi-million-dollar improvement project transformed the 2.2-acre waterfront park into a modern, inclusive destination featuring expanded green space, an accessible playground, event lawn, and new amenities designed for residents and visitors of all ages.

Legend Structures provided two custom architectural steel trellises, each designed to complement the park’s landscape while creating inviting gathering spaces. One features a traditional rectangular footprint, while the second incorporates a custom curved layout to match the surrounding site geometry. Both structures utilize tube steel columns, wide flange steel beams, and premium Ipe wood slats to create a warm, contemporary appearance with the durability required for a busy park and recreation setting.

In addition to the trellises, Legend Structures fabricated and supplied the park’s custom half-hexagon bandshell. The steel-framed performance structure features tongue-and-groove wood decking that adds warmth and architectural character while providing a focal point for concerts, community celebrations, performances, and public events. Positioned adjacent to the expansive event lawn overlooking the Navesink River, the bandshell serves as a centerpiece of the renovated park and supports Red Bank’s vision for an active waterfront destination.

The completed Marine Park renovation demonstrates how custom steel structures can enhance public spaces by combining architectural appeal with long-term durability. From shaded gathering areas beneath the custom trellises to performances hosted within the new bandshell, these structures will serve the Red Bank community for years to come while complementing the park’s revitalized waterfront setting.
